It is with great sadness that we pass on the news of the unexpected passing of one of our ex mini and junior players. Our sincere condolances go out to Patrick's family and friends at this sad time. PATRICK BUCKNALL 1992-2025
Patrick died unexpectedly of a Sudden Cardiac Episode on January 7th 2025 at his home in London. He played for Manchester Rugby Club juniors aged 8-14 years old, mostly on the wing and occasionally at scrum half. They were very happy times for him. After leaving school Patrick completed a degree in Animation at Salford University, going onto a successful career in Visual Effects. He lived and worked in France, Glasgow, Montreal for 6 years, and most recently London, on film and TV projects such as Paddington 3 and Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power. He never lost his love of rugby, following all levels of the game avidly, and following the careers of his teammates at MRC, Ben Spencer and Elliot Millar Mills. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends alike.
